 The Arab health Insurance forum
held at Sheraton Hotel – Damascus on 4-5/5/2008.

More than 500 participants has attended the conference, among them are chairmen, and executive managers of Insurance companies, banks and financial Intuitions, and of commercial and investment banks, governmental, academic, political, and diplomatic bodies. The attendance also includes businessmen, investors, industrialists, merchants, experts in finance and economy, and members of board of commerce, industry, and tourism chambers. Many Arab countries were participating (Sudan, UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Palestine, Jordan, Libya, Egypt, Lebanon and Syria)
The opening session of The Arab health Insurance forum was opened at 9:30 am, at Sheraton Damascus Hotel on Sunday 4/5/2008, the conference was organized. The Second day sessions started with H.E. Dr. Mohammad Al-Hussein – Minister of Finance speech, after that he vested all the exhibition stands and handed their shields. The 2-days Forum discussions covered the following areas: Definition , history, development and importance of health insurance The Government and its role in health insurance Laws and regulations and their role in the development of health sector 10th FYP (Quality & Accreditation) Relationship between all ministries and health insurance The role of social security Health insurance experiences in Arab and foreign countries Contractual relationships between the various bodies concerned with health insurance The relationship between the insured person and the insurance company Relationship between health expenditure management company and guarantor bodies The relationship between health expenditure management company and services providers. Technology and Insurance Coding and the use of PC The importance of insurance in the statistics process Unifying the insurance Number (Citizen's insurance No.) Rationing the consumption of drugs (non- waste of excess drugs)
